EFMI organizes two main series of conferences: the Special Topic Conferences (EFMI-STC) and Medical Informatics Europe (EFMI-MIE). In conjunction or independent of the main congress series, working groups in addition organize topic specific workshops, tutorials and seminars.
Publication of the conference proceedings of the EFMI conference series was done in close co-operation with IOS Press in its Medline indexed series “Health Technology and Informatics” in the last years. Selected papers from the EFMI conferences were also published in Methods of Information in Medicine.
EFMI aims to support medical and health informatics community to publish and present in its conferences original and high quality work that focuses on research, development and application in the areas of Medical and Health Informatics. To ensure the presentations’ and publications’ originality, EFMI performs plagiarism and similarity checks before the final acceptance of the submissions. EFMI’s Publications officer and the affiliated Publisher reserve the right to exclude from conference programme and proceedings book (without any further notice) any submissions having high percentage of similarity (more than 30%) or significant plagiarism issues. Before published/presented work may be presented on EFMI’s conferences as a “podium” presentation, after its acceptance from the conference scientific programme committee (SPC). All “podium” presentations are not included in the conference proceedings book to avoid significant publication and ethical issues.
