In general “EFMI endorsement” is to be interpreted strictly as “supported by EFMI”, and EFMI will never assume any formal responsibility for the quality of an endorsed project/journal/conference.
1) Endorsement of projects
R&D projects where EFMI is part of the consortium, an EFMI institutional member is active in the project, or the project is at the core of health and biomedical informatics in Europe can seek EFMI endorsement. Endorsement of a project should be based on scientific quality, opportunities for collaboration and /or strategic importance to health and biomedical informatics in Europe and internationally.
Criteria are:
a) EFMI shares the project’s goals and considers the group seeking EFMI endorsement as especially suitable to advance work in this field of health and biomedical informatics;
b) The project group considers institutional membership in EFMI, and is open for EFMI working groups to collaborate;
c) Results of the project are openly accessible.
Funded projects that obtained EFMI letter of support as part of their application process can transfer the letter of support to EFMI endorsement. The project seeking endorsement communicates with the EFMI Board. Such endorsement entitles the project to use the EFMI logo in combination with the phrase “supported by EFMI” on their web site and other public relations material. Decision is made by EFMI Board and reported to the EFMI council. Endorsement is valid for 2 year and may be extended based on a new application.
2) Endorsement of scientific journals
Scientific journals can seek status as “official journals of EFMI”, based on application for endorsement of the journal. Such applications are prepared in close collaboration with the EFMI Publication Officer, addressed to the EFMI Board and subject to EFMI Council Decision. Such endorsement entitles the publication to use the EFMI logo in combination with the phrase “official journal of EFMI” on their web site and in other public relations material. Endorsement is valid for 5 year, and may be extended based on a new application.
3) Conferences and professional meetings supported by EFMI
Regional conferences where EFMI institutional members and / or EFMI WGs are active may use the EFMI logo as part of their profiling and marketing. Conferences where EFMI members are not active may not use the EFMI logo or phrase “supported by EFMI”. The conference organizers must communicate with the EFMI Board’s Institutional member officer or Vice President for WGs before stating “supported by EFMI” and use of logo for the specific conference. Support entitles the conference to use the EFMI logo on their web site. EFMI may ask for a fee to use our logo. Decision about a fee and opportunity to use the EFMI logo is made by EFMI Board and reported to the EFMI
